4th post: targeted treatment

Hey, this post will be about target treatment for acne. I will be talking mostly about tea tree oil products as they are very good natural skin purifiers like charcoal but charcoal is harder to use in a targeted treatment. All pictures being used I have taken and all links to products mentioned will be at the bottom as well as their prices. If their is anything you would like me to look in to or to talk about please let me know by commenting and I will do what I can to look in to it. My next post will be about moisturising and lip care. If there are any items that would fit in to this that you want me to look in to please let me know in the comments.

The first item I will be looking at is the tea tree targeted gel. This has a small applicator which allows the gel to be applied exactly where it is needed. It is also good to put over any popped spot to help  stop it from coming back. When it is applied on either popped or sensitive skin it may sting as it purifies, clean and disinfects. I would suggest using either aftershave/perfume or a strong smelling deodorant to cover up the smell of the tea tree oil as it has a very strong smell.

The next item is tea tree oil. The one I currently have and use is the from the body shop. Best way to use the tea tree oil in my opinion is to put a small amount on to a cotton pad and then apply the part with the tea tree oil to the bits of skin with acne. The tea tree oil helps lift out the impurities that cause the acne spots but may sting a bit since of its strength. It should only be applied a couple of times a week since otherwise it might dry the skin out. Below shows a picture of the body shop tea tree oil.

The final item that I have used that I will be talking about is the tea tree anti-imperfection daily solution. It has a pipette to help apply the correct amount as only a few drops are needed per a place. This one works by applying a couple of drops of the solution to where the acne is after being washed. This helps to lift up the impurities that causes the acne and helps to stop it from coming back. Below shows an image of the solution.

One of the items which would be useful if you wish to pop the acne spots to remove them is a blackhead remover which is a thing bit of metal with bits at each end to squeeze the spot and remove the posy inside. Since it is made of metal it is easily cleaned and kept hygienic. This will help remove the spots but after using it is best to use something such as the tea tree oil to disinfect the area so that the acne spots are less likely to return.

Tips and myths:
The first myth is that putting toothpaste on the acne spots. This came about as people believed that the toothpaste as it dried would dry out the acne spot there for removing it. This myth is not true as the toothpaste will dry but will have no effect on the acne spot.

The next myth that an oily/fatty diet cause the skin to get covered in acne. Once again this myth is a lie. A lot of people believed this since there was  a lot of people who had diets with a lot of fat/oil and also parents used it to get their children to eat healthily but, studies have found there is no links between having a fatty/oily diet and acne. So there is no link but is still better to have a healthy diet as it will help you feel better it help the rest of your body.

The last tip I would give is take care when shaving around acne. This is because when you shave your skin becomes more open and also can pop acne spots helping it spread. So when shaving it is better to not to shave around acne the same the rest of your body and also use something such as aftershave balm as it helps your skin recover and therefore less likely to get acne.

If there is anything you would like me to look in to or talk about please comment and I will do my best. Also would you all want me to also do haul posts after I have gone out to restock if you would like me to please let me know by saying so in the comments.

3rd post seasonal smells

Hey this post will be about seasonal smells so will cover not only summer/spring smells but all that I have used and will probably return during their respective season. Images will be of items I personally have in order to show items which may not be currently on sale. Can you please share this with anyone you think would find this interesting. Please comment anything you want me to look in to for you and talk about.

In my last post I spoke about further face washes which are good to use in the evening. Also at the end I asked what you would want to see in my next post and the responses that I had got was for seasonal smells. These are the ones that I have experience with and have items of to show what they look like.

I will first look in to the spring/summer smells as they are the ones which are currently out then look at the Christmas smells from last year. This spring/summer smells are based around well-known cocktails.

The first one I will be looking at is meant to smell like a virgin Mojito, which is a mixture between lime and mint. The lime is the dominant smell with a small complementing smell of mint. In the image there is the body wash, body butter and sorbet of the smell. it is a nice refreshing smell for summer. the body butter and the sorbet will also work well to help deal with any dry skin from the warm weather and help make your body look good for going out in t-shirts and sandals.

The second spring/summer smell is piñita colada. This is a mixture between pineapple and coconut. The main smell is pineapple with a small bit of its citrus from it coming out with a small bit of coconut to add a bit of extra something to it. This one is my second favourite since I am not a big fan of coconut but it is better to judge which you like by going in and smelling them as each to their own. It looks a bit like aerated water that you see sometimes you see from your tap.

The winter  fragrances are based around Christmas smells and foods. Each one has a fruit which is used as the base for each one. There was a large variety of products for each as they are for both as something the people would uses for themselves and give as presents. This also meant there was a variety of different styles for each one.

The first one I will look at is one of my personal favourites which is spiced apple. I may have gone a bit over board with spiced apple since I have got which is shown in the picture; the body butter, body scrub, body wash, hand cream, lip balm and lip gloss. The body scrub is useful to remove any dead skin on your body and remove any impurities in your skin making it ready to tan in the sunny summer weather (when it comes around and comes out) also help. The hand cream is a very nice smelling hand moisturiser which will help your hands recover from the hard work of each day. The lip balm and lip gloss work very similarly the lip balm moisturises your lips more than the lip gloss which will make your lips more shiny though, both smell good and taste good which is quite unique since most will only give you one or the other.

These are all shown below. One other products I had got was the perfume they did for the 3 main Christmas smells which makes a good gift, there is a small balling in it to disturb a powder that is in it to make it look cloudy and to add a bit of shine to it, it makes a good gift. For the spiced apple collection there was special set which came in a case shaped like a large apple to continue with the them which looks really good and would make a really good gift. Also when I last checked the there was still spiced apple on the body shop website but may run out soon.

The next smell I will be talking about is frosted plum which is more of a soft almost floral which, makes a nice change from the normally more heavy winter fragrances. It was advertised more as a limited edition smell but will hopefully return next winter. The items that I have to show for this bit is the lip balm and the body butter. These are shown in the image below.

The third winter seasonal smell is the only one which does not have fruit in it which is Vanilla Chai. It smells a bit like an everyday scented candle. Out of the smells this is one of my least favourites since of it having more of a waxy smell. The only item I have currently of it is the body butter but I did have the lip balm but gave them to friends since it would help them and I was less likely to use it.

The last seasonal smell is Frosted Berries. This one has a sweeter smell then some of the other smells which makes a nice change since sometimes the fruits have a bit more of a citrus smell plus it is not too heavy for daily use. The body shop lip balms are all very good for your lips with out the normal draw back from flavoured or scented lip balms. It has a very nice fruity smells.

The next post will be about targeted treatment. This will have items which will help deal with breakouts and patches of skin with a lot of acne. 2nd post and continuation

hey sorry this is so late but I have not had any free time since I have been busy with exams and then had to pack all my stuff to move out of my flat since it was the end of term. Also had to help my family with stuff around the house. If there is anything you want me to look in to or to cover just comment and I will try my best to find what I can. All images belong to their respective owners and I do not claim any of them to be my own. all images come from websites at the bottom with link to where you can buy them. Please share this with anyone you know who might find this interesting or would help them with any skin problems they may be having. It will help me see what you all like and allow me to share what you want to know in each post.

In my last post I spoke about some face washes and scrubs that are good for acne prone skin. In this post I will be looking in to further skin care to help with acne prone skin with products that are good to use in the evening.

The first item I would suggest is the teatree skin clearing foaming cleanser. It makes for a good starting point for cleaning your face in the evening as it acts to remove the oil that has built up during the day.It also acts well to clean your face after doing sports. The solution  is watery when pumped the solution is mixed with air foaming it allowing it to lift oils off the skin, to help clear pores and reduce spots.

A possible item which would be good to follow after using the tea tree skin clearing foaming cleanser, is to use tea tree skin clearing mattifying toner. it helps clear out any impurities that are in the pores and to tighten the skin  which it is used on making it feel firmer. To use it  the bottle would need to be shaken so that the powder at the bottom mixes in with the solution then is put on to a cotton pad which is then applied to the face.
After using the tea tree skin clearing mattifying face toner, it is good to use tea tree mattifying lotion since it will moisturise your face with out making your skin oily. It also helps to keep your skin tight whist making it soft.
The final item that I would suggest is something which is suggested to use just before you go to sleep. this item is the tea tree night lotion. it acts to moisturise your skin before you go to sleep whilst helping to stop your skin from getting oily while you sleep. it also helps you to fall asleep and have a good nights sleep.

first blog post with a starting point for skin care

hello this is my first blog post my name is Andrew and I am currently at university and a little bit nerdy. I was inspired to right this blog after being asked by multiple people about acne skin care since my skin has cleared up (finally). This came more apparent when my mum asked me what I was using and suggestions since my brother's acne was getting bad and needed advice on what to get to help sort it out. I have spent a lot of time trying different skin care products to try to sort my acne out and thought it might help some others with their skin and help them to feel better. To start with the blog will be bi-monthly to see how it goes and to see what everyone will want.

If there is anything you would like me to look in to or give any tips about please comment and I will try to cover it in my next post. Sorry if my spelling is bad. all links to company/products that are mention will have their links at the bottom with a rough price for each product. all images are not mine and belong to their respective owners

One products that I would suggest to start with is bulldog face wash and the face scrub as it will give you an idea as to if you need something stronger or not. bulldog is a British company which produce a verity of different face washes. The face wash will also help moisturise your skin as you wash so will not have to worry about your skin becoming dry and itch in response to washing your face. here is a couple of images of some of their products

These work as a good starting point to see exactly what your skin will need to help with your acne. with these you can also fit which one you buy to the type of skin you have to help take care of it. also with bulldog products you can get 10% of your first order by signing up to their news letter and free delivery on orders over £20.

If you find that your acne is not quite under control after using bulldog for a little while the next thing that I would suggest which I am currently using which is the tea tree face wash and face scrub from the body shop since the tea tree oil in the product helps with acne and also makes your skin feel good afterwards. their products are also not animal tested and work with charities to protect wildlife and the rainforest. The face scrub is good as it as smaller beads in meaning it can clean your skin better and remove more dead skin. Here are some images of the products I have just mentioned.

The body shop also run a good rewards card which gives you 10 points for every £1 you spend and once you have 500 points you will get a £5 voucher on your card to use when you want. Also often have discount codes on their website allowing you to save money on your orders. you can also use your rewards card vouchers on your orders as well. You can get free delivery on orders over £20 which normally comes on the first day of it's predicted delivery date.

In my next post I will cover further acne skin care with a more full on care plan which will help your skin clear up and also feel extremely soft.
